Hyderabad's oldest fun running club. Through Deccan dust, every week, for thirty-six years.
Runs are announced in the kennel's WhatsApp group — week to week, location, time, who's haring. To get in: join our request group, say hello, and an admin will add you to the main group.
Tell us roughly who you are (new to Hyderabad, visiting from another kennel, friend of someone in the pack, just curious — all fine). DM one of the admins. Someone will get back to you with the main group link and details for the next run.
Visiting hashers passing through Hyderabad — same way in. Mention your home kennel. We love a visitor.
Only admins can post in the request group — that keeps the spam out. Real humans get added quickly.
Trails go through dust, mud, occasional water, the odd nullah. Don't wear your good runners. Old trainers are perfect.
A small fee per run covers refreshments and snacks at the circle. The Hash Cash hasher collects it. Bring some rupees.
The trail design loops the fast back to the slow. You won't get left behind. Walkers and runners coexist.
This is the actual point. The run is the excuse. The Circle is where the kennel becomes a kennel.
Not on your first run. After a few. It will be unflattering. This is tradition. Resistance is counterproductive.
Standard kennel etiquette. What happens in circle stays in circle. Run photos before and after are great.

Albert "G" Gispert and a handful of British expats at the Selangor Club Annex — known locally as the Hash House, on account of its pedestrian food — invent the hash to work off Sunday hangovers. It spreads. It never stops.
Eric "Digit" McGaw, recently arrived in Hyderabad with ICRISAT, lays the first trail through the rocky landscape on the edges of the Deccan Plateau. He marks it in flour. He shouts On, on. Sister kennels start in Bangalore and Madras the same month.
Arrived in Hyderabad with ICRISAT in the late 1980s. By March 1990 he had laid the first H4 trail. Sister kennels started in Bangalore and Madras the same month. He went on to organise Interhash 2002 in Goa, putting India on the global hashing map for good.
Half the kennel's traditions are his fingerprints. The kennel exists because he started it, and it kept running because he stayed in it.
Digit is the brain behind Interhash 2002 in Goa — the global gathering of hashers from every kennel on earth. Hyderabad puts itself on the international hashing map for good.
The pack still gathers weekly. The flour still goes down. Thirty-six years and counting. On On.
